Does anyone know if a pre 01 tailight has the normal type of sockets that just snap into the back of the tailights like normal and will fit the wire harness thats on the 01. My problem is the altezza's have holes for the sockets that snap in, i guess if worse comes to worse I could go buy a buncha 1157 and 1156 sockets that fit and wire em up

sounds like you got the clear taillights that are supposed to come with their own sockets and lamps and you didnt. your not supposed to have to disassemble the factory stuff, just plug in the whole new setup into the plug on the harness. maybe u have the cheap ones???

Ive put em in before on other vehicles, what it looks like from part comparison is that I think they sent me some pre 01 altezza's instead of 01. The fit but like i said they have diff connections. My concern is it easy enough to redo the sockets so I dont have to go thru the crap of sending them back?

ya you can take out the sockets, that would be how toyota would fix one of the stock ones right, but ive never had to do that on my altezza's.

Yeah, I compared part numbers off the box and the numbers on teh altezza's, its the wrong ones, they must be pre 2000 because the part number on the box is for 2000+. Looks like Ill be hitting the local pepboys in the morning to try and figure this one out since Im too hard headed to send them back.

Maybe you could leave those ridiculous looking taillights off a nice truck.

It's funny though, seems like he has no mods at all on his Tacoma. Who is this guy 97taco4x4 anyways? He's only got 13 posts, in other words his opinions are not worth anything.

I mean really, this is my only complaint with this forum is about 15% of the people on here only reply to posts with smartass comments, and its usually nothing even remotely helpful. I know my reaction was probably harsh but my post was obviously a rant and adding fuel to the fire didnt help. What I found was the guy who sold the altezzas short chainged me on a wiring harness that shoulda come with it to hook up to the taco harness. And to the obviously bored guy above, if you do come down this way I dont think you would be laughing long unless you are proficient at laughing with a steel toe up your @$$!

I was going to try and be the good guy and take back the remark about those taillights. Yet after reading your response its obvious that you are like mostly every other idiot on forums, an internet tough guy. Its pretty easy to sit back behind a computer screen and threaten to put a steel boot up my @$$. Whats even funnier than the whole tough guy act is that you are threating to kick my @$$ b/c I laugh at your taillights, that sounds like something a 16 year old ricer in hs would say. To bad I was just trying to give you some advise on how to make your rig look nicer, I guess since you live like the 16 year old hs kid you have to look it too, maybe you should go buy some bling bling with the tails.

So if Euro tails make him a so called "Ricer", what does that make you, you being a noob making dumb comments and threats of a well known member? And by the way, he wasn't asking advice on how the tailights would look, is he spending YOUR money on them? The answer is no, and who the ˟˟˟˟˟˟ are you to criticize what he spends his money on? I want to see pics of your truck, post 'em!
