hi guys, has an i have tried this upgrade,
i bought the 5th gear and 5th counter gear from a toyota Dyna R452 gearbox and i have ran into trouble, i have 2 gearsboxs, 2001 R151 and 2009 R151, what i found that both these gearboxs have different 5th gear counter gears to the R452, i have attached photos of the different counter gears, i just dont know where to go from here any help will be appreciated
the 5th gear fit onto the shaft no problem,

Having no knowledge of the transmission your working with the R452 First I heard of it

If you want to use that 5th gear your more then likely going to have a custom gear cut

Just what are you trying to gain by changing the gears that could not be done by just swapping transmissions

 

hi,
the toyota hilux have the R151 gearbox, i have read a thread from another forum but i have forgotten where i read it.
when you swap the 5th and counter gears you increase you overdrive from 17% to 30%, but the problem i have is the syncos from the R151 wont fit the R452!!
the dyna R452 is not a 4wd gearbox.
