Hey, I'm the new guy in town, and my 22r needs help
#1
Hello everyone! I'm Mike, not only do I enjoy long walks on the beach, but I also love to work on stuff. And I have an issue with my 22r that requires expert knowledge (or any knowledge that surpasses my own). My sweet old '86 4x4 single cab was my commuter up and down the mountains for work (for snow, floods, meteor strikes etc.) and one morning she lost all driving power, started knocking and sounded like a hippo giving birth when I tried giving it any throttle. I had to drive home in the bike lane to make it. (luckily it was only 2 miles from home). But my first reaction was that it's the main bearings, she had a pretty good leak on her, and when she got stolen a year ago, the thieves most likely didn't drive her easy as I do. So I have a YouTube video of it right after I got it home that day and I haven't really done anything to it since, but I'm tired of seeing my old rust bucket sit, and I need to get it back on the road. So if you guy(s) can look at the video and possibly confirm my suspicions or make me feel better about it, I would surely appreciate it.
Happy to be a part of the community!

Sounds like a con rod knock to me.
Overhaul time.
Don't drive it at all. If that rod lets go, there could well be a holed block in your future.
