Side View Mirrors Independent of the Assembly?

My 95 Hilux has side view mirrors in which the mirror and the assembly move as one. So when anyone bumps it, my mirror is then messed up and needs to be twisted back into position. I'm tired of twisting it back into position! So I'm looking to replace the two side view mirrors with the type that fold in, and more importantly, the mirror itself moves independent of the assembly (i.e. WITHIN the assembly) similar to my 2002 4Runner mirrors.

Has anyone done this lil operation? Which mirrors from what truck should I use? Any advice is appreciated!

If you like your 2002 4Runner mirrors get a set of those and put them on

most all mirrors move if you bump them hard enough.

Actually, 2002 4Runner mirrors won't fit my 95 Hilux. They don't mount in the same spot.

Sure, I guess so. But not like these OEM 95 mirrors.

I would have both those 4Runner Mirrors on the truck in about a hour but they are much to small for my use.

Hey bud, did you ever find a solution to your issue? I have a 93 and same story... Hope you found a replacement mirror that's separate from the outer shell

Unfortunately no. In fact, I'm sorry to say I had to sell that wonderful Toyota pickup.

The 2nd gen 4runner mirrors mount where the plastic triangle in front of the windows is. I bet the 3 holes are behind the trim pieces.
