Without going into all the details, I need someone to apply a “Satin Black” (low gloss) finish to my stock wheels in the picture below. While you are at it, could you please black the white letters out on the tire since they are now reversed on the vehicle (this is an old picture).




To those of you that are curious, I went from OEM wheels to black steel wheels and back to stock wheels due to balancing problems. Anyway, I am going to carefully paint the stock wheels unless this photochop reveals horrendous results.

it's really easy -- just create a layer over the image, make a circular selection over the rim, color it in the darkest black. then just lower the opacity till you get that nice shade.

I personally do not like it like that if the end results would happen to be that.

 

Did mine differently than that. I just painted by hand with the Burn Tool set on Highlights. Almost identical result.

 

Even though these guys did a great job, I think Satin Black would be a bit darker than this. You guys want to take it a little darker for me?

Yeah christian I think you need a full size picture of the whole truck and then have these guys do both wheels for you, and see how that looks. Right now I agree with king and the others it just looks like dirty wheels.

 

 

 

Now that I remember, I once saw these same wheels coated in teflon and they didn't look good. They were on a red TACOMA.

It's something about the design of this particular wheel that I do not like when black.

Black wheels are unique and for some reason, they look good when black, even when you have the same ones in white; when you look at them in black they still look good.

This is just me but these where only meant to look chrome and not tefloned.

Full size photoshop of both wheels perhaps may look different, in a good way.

 

I still don't like it.

It really does like brake dust.

Never wash the rig and I gurantee you, within a year of not washing it, you'll have the same results.

I see it all the time with never before washed cars.

I'm now wondering if darker would look better?

What is the true color of teflon? Is it this light? Is there darker teflon?
