What's up, folks. Yup, it happened. Blew my motor up. I'm out shopping for re-manufactured 3vz-e motors for my 1988 toyota 4x4. I've looked at www.gearheadengines.com and they have one for $2,450 after the $400 core charge has been returned. I've also looked at www.japanengine.com and they have one for $1,850 after the $300 core charge.
Obviously there are a range of prices out there. Some deals come with the gasket set while others don't come with cams. Not only am I looking for as much bang for my buck i.e. installation kits, belts, etc., and everything that is included with the purchase, but I am looking for a reputable place to get it from. I don't want to unknowingly shell out 2K to some shmuck in Vietnam.
Any help for where I can get a re-man engine, please point me in the right direction. Thanks!

 

I went through Denny's auto for the 5vz swap I'm doing... Not affiliated in anyway. I searched around when choosing an engine and he was what I settled on. My truck isn't running yet so I can't say anything about the engine other than it was packaged well.
