97 4Runner swap into 89 1st gen 4runner

This is my first time on this site and hoping I can find some help on my 3.4L swap. I'm at the point I started the engine but I have no dash lights working on my '89 4Runner instrument panel. Anybody have any idea how to hook up the factory '89 gauges to work with the '97 3.4L, including the tach ? ( I used the ORS conversion engine harness)

Welcome to Yotatech. If you check out the engine swap section, there is a forum dedicated specifically to 3.4 swaps, if you post your questions there you'll probably get a better response. Here's a link to the 3.4 swap forum:

good luck with your swap!

Have you done the tach mod? If not, then hooking up the tach wire will fry your tachometer.
