what do I have going on?
Ok I pulled the engine out of my 95 T100 2WD. the oil pump has the oil dipstick in it. however the pan is a rear sump. I ran the VIN on the block and the engine actually came out of a 96 4Runner.
with the dipstick in the front and the shallow part of the pan there, would I be getting accurate oil reading?
did someone swap the engine and install the T100 pan on it?
Im swapping this engine in my 93 4Runner 4X4, should I get the T100 Oil pump and remove the plug on the block so i use a side dipstick? (this is what I think I have to do)
Thanks for the help

Now's the time to set it up correctly; go buy a T100 4x4 oil pan, pickup, dipstick, dipstick tube, dipstick union that mounts in the block between the driver's side motor mount, and then plug the old hole in the oil pump.
Here's a list of part numbers I used on my swap (into a 91 4Runner, IFS):
15301-62060 Dipstick
11452-62060 Dipstick Guide
90405-10033 Dipstick Union
96721-19010 Dipstick Union O-Ring
12101-65012 Oil Pan
15104-62070 oil pickup tube

The pan I used on my swap:

FYI the 12101-65030 looks to be a 2WD oil pan (useful on SAS trucks): https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f160...l-swap-237832/

This one bugged me, since I know the -65012 works and is what I used but I haven't been able to "browse" to find it. No matter how many different sites I visited, and looked up parts for a 1997 T100, 5VZ, 4x4, etc. nothing was coming up with the -65012 pan, but when I type in the full PN they all found the number and the correct applications. That is until I found the "small text" on toyotapartsdeal.com that indicates that the -65011 part number was replaced by the -65012 version, so I guess toyodiy and some others just haven't been updated.

I don't know what happened, but all of these online parts lists and diagrams seemed to have become much more difficult to find things in the past few months; maybe its Toyota trying to get people into their local dealers, I don't know but its annoying.

got another question. the water bypass pipe that runs between the heads. It looks to have an o-ring in it. i cant find a part number for it.
also the "padding" that goes around the other side where it has a plate that fits in the block. cant find a part number for that either.
