So just finish up with a head gasket job on my 85 pickup 22r non weber carb. After putting back together seems to have corrected the problem, but now the truck idles at 2000rpm from cold to warm. I have checked: vaccum lines, throttle cable, fuel level in sight glass, timing is set to 8 deg adv TDC. I really don't know what else to do. The idle adjust screw on the carb does nothing to change the idle. It was idling great prior to the head gasket job. Just removed the carb, did a little cleaning with carb cleaner while it was off and now it does idle correct.

Any ideas as to what the problem could be? What else should I check?
