I have a 1981 toyota pickup swb 4 speed, I want to swap a 5 speed, I found an L50 for 40$ that I'll be picking up next week-end, but for a longterm project with more power (2tr-fe) and dual t-case, I want a later model 5 speed transmission.

I went to a local pick n pull and found a 1993 toyota t100 with 120k miles with a v6 3.4 and manual transmission, I can get the transmission for 135$, is it a w56 or r150f or what? Is it a desirable transmission? Is there anywhere on the truck where I can see what transmission is in it (like a code in the vin or something)?
