I have a 2000 Limited. About 50% of the time when I try to start it the security light on the dash flashes and all it will do is continue to crank over but not start. Usually if I turn the ignition off, take the key out, then put it back in it will start. Every once in a while I have to do this a couple times.

I would prefer to just disable/remove the factory security and/or starter kill. I don't care if I lose the factory keyless entry because I don't have key fobs anyway.

You can just get another transponder key. I think your key may be bad or something. That's why the car won't allow the engine to start. ..
