has anyone attempted to take off this decal that runs all the way across the tailgate? i want to take it off mine but not sure if the paint is the same color underneath as the truck or not. and if it is, was it pretty faded and noticeable?

 

heat gun & elbow grease and goof off to remove the residue

 

I'm not concerned about taking it off...just not sure if the paint underneath it will be off color so much to the rest of the truck that it will look tacky. (Figure that will be somewhat sun faded from being 19 years old)
