Yeah, looks good at first glance, but I can pick that thing apart and discredit half of what is said im the description. It is not original paint - you can see that they were lazy when they painted it and painted the tailgate stays and latch strikers. You can see where they painted over rust in the bed and did a crappy job sanding down the filler towards the rear of the bed. There is nothing meticulous about the maintenance or restoration since most of the brackets, retainers and hardware under the hood are rusted pretty badly. The grille emblem show signs of corrosion. The grille has been painted. The vent windows are rusted which likely means the inside of those doors ain't pretty. I'd go out on a limb and say that this truck may have been garage keep SINCE it has be "freshened up" but it likely didn't spend its life in a garage. Black headrests, not blue. And did you notice the roll cage?? This truck has probably seen some decent action - why else would you have a roll cage? It is listed as a one owner truck, but has 7 records on the car fax so apparently there were some events that I would be concerned about. I could probably go on and on, but to me it is misrepresented therefore I wouldn't trust the seller. If he was honest with his description then he would likely get more money out of people like me who know what they are looking at. Is it worth $10G? To me...No, but apparently somebody else is duped into bidding already. It certainly is a good looking truck, but I can guarantee that there are some underlying issues with it.

 

Even what is left of the rubber tailgate rattle stopping rubber has been painted over and IIRC, 1980 was THE one year of the 1st gens everyone stayed away from, if for nothing other than its horrible 3.90 or something like that rear end ratio. I owned one 1980 of 8 solid axle HiLux trucks, but not for long
