Lookin for a 3rz 4x4 removal thread

Looking for a thread showing the process of pulling a 3rz from a 4x4 m/t taco. Friend of mine and I are going to pull his motor next week. 35-40 psi in cylinder #1... =/ Anyone have a link?

My main question is can we pull the transmission and transfer case with the motor? It looks like we may have the room to do it but would rather not have it rigged up and half way out to find out it doesn't work...

I have extensively searched multiple forums.

Thanks

It would depend just what your using to pull the engine .

You need to have the ability to get the complete assembly high enough to clear the radiator support .

remove wheels and sit the truck on blocks as low as possible

The back end needs to stay low enough to not be catching on the transmission tunnel till it clears the firewall .

At which time it springs free swings back and smashes the windshield

Each one of these has so many different variables no wonder you can`t get a answer.

Just the difference between Auto and Manual

Even If you got a step by step instructions yours would no doubt be different.

Catch 22 for sure!!

Why?
If you absolutely have to leave the Trans attached pulling the t/c will give you more room.
seems like a major pain in the ass having 3 feet of weight hanging off the engine trying to hope you don't screw up something as you pull it.
front differential seems like it would be in the way with the hoist fully extended
