Well, my last inquiry here yielded no results. Decided to rephrase my situation.
I bought an 88 pickup with a 3" suspension lift. Maker unknown. It has 33/12.5r15 on it now which are pointless for wheeling here in the NC mountains.

I'd prefer a smaller and thinner trail tire, but don't want to truck to look odd with smaller tires and that lift. I don't mind the lift, but can I lower it a bit and not remove the whole kit?

 

Is it a drop bracket or ball joint spacers? You can probably turn the torsion bars down in the front. Whats the rear lift? Blocks? Shackle? taller leafs? Pics of the kit would help. Help us help you.

Or just get some 33 x10.5

 

Thanks for the reply, rattlewagon. Pics up. I'm not sure what the lift is called, exactly. This is a learning experience for me. The truck has not been re-geard and is an auto trans. I'd rather go down in tire diameter then just width for better overall performance.

 

That looks like your run of the mill 4" drop bracket lift with blocks in the rear, much like this one. http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/-p-...dmtxoC7irw_wcB

You could pull the lift off and return it back to stock height, but youll need to find some stock parts, such as spindles and shocks. Or just get some 31s and deal with it being a bit tall.

I was under the impression that all I needed was shocks and U-bolts. I would need spindles as well?

Any special tools needed for this job? Actually, do you know of a video or something that shows this job being done? I can only find steps, no visuals. I would love some visuals for reference.
