Hi everyone, I have a 1988 V6 toyota Pickup that runs a little rough and very rich. I bought the truck this way last year after the motor was "rebuilt" and thought I would be able to figure it out but a year later and lots of coin later it still runs the same. It actually sounds kind of good at idle almost like it has an aftermarket cam in it but it's definitely down on power, runs super rich, and idles pretty low once it's warm. Recently I've replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, mass air flow unit, plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, crank sensor, O2 sensor, EGR valve and egr module, air filter. I'm sorta lost as to what it could be now?!?? Maybe a bent valve or could the TPS make this happen. Also I've noticed that most 3zve engines i see in pics have a wire running from the egr valve into the harness but mine does not have it!!!! Any help would be very very appreciated!!!
for the idling problem have you checked all of your air intake hoses to make sure that they don't have any holes or tears in them? The running a little rough could also be that your timing is off, have you checked that. They might not have done the timing right after the rebuild.
