Fuel Economy Upgrade

I currently have an 02 Tundra 4.7 V8 with an K&N Cold Air kit and catback exhaust. Those upgraded the power considerably, but not the fuel economy as I was hoping. I've also been looking into a Unichip that's already set up for the cold air/catback setup. Does anyone have any experience with this particular setup and if that will actually improve fuel economy? I currently only get an average of 16 highway mpg doing between 70 & 75.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I WISH I got 16mpg in my 2005 Tundra DC. I'm lucky to get 12mpg! I doubt that you are going to get much better than 16 pal

I've had 5 full sized trucks man and I've never gotten close to 16mpg. I gave up dd a bigger truck, none of them get good mileage really.

So 16 is pretty good then? I would think that a smaller and lighter pickup such as this should be able to get up there closer to 20 if not better.

16mpg is good for a fullsize.

Also, keep in mind you put a free flow air intake on your truck, which in turn should make it easier for the engine to suck more air, so then the mixture is changed to accommodate for such...more fuel all the time.

Its a myth that the free flow filters and 'cold air intakes' provide better power.
