93 Toyota Truck 4 cyl. 2 wd Clutch Problem
Hello. I replaced the Clutch on my friends 93 Yota 4 cyl 2wd today. I did not replace the slave cylinder, and i believe it to be original with 188,000 on it. Clutch was also original one. I installed a new disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and flywheel. After install it's having a very difficult time engaging the gears. I have to push very very hard on the clutch pedal to get it into gear. The slave cylinder did not have the line off. I just unbolted, and moved it a side. I thought all would be fine, but my user name says it all. Do you think the slave could be weak, and not fully disengaging the clutch? Also the clutch is grabbing right off the floor sooo close! Please advise? Thank you. bad luck 247

After you bleed it, and make sure the reservoir is full, adjust the clutch pedal as per this:

It is my friends Truck. He didn't have the money for a new slave right now. I agree it is best to install a new one with a new clutch. It seems to be good for now.
