94 pickup taillights

Just installed aftermarket taillights and now brake lights appear to be always on. No shift in brightness of bulb when I apply brakes. Brake switch under dash isn't sticking, used same bulbs from stock, and wiring to lights seems to be okay.
Any suggestions?

What kind of tail lights??

Where these brand new out of the box??

Someplace you have 12VDC going to your new lights.

Have you checked that your brake light switch is not electrically closed even though it looks to be in the off position??

Break out the Meter!!!

They are spec-d taillights from carid.com. Yes, they were brand new out of the box and already wired.

Your using single filament bulbs for your brake lights, look at the bulbs and make sure they are double filament.

Bulbs are double filament and both are always on. Constant overheating is roasting bulbs glass.

Some how they are wired up wrong .

Or the brake light switch is always closed

With the light switch off brake light switch in the open position turn signals and flashers off there should be no battery voltage at your lights.

Your not trying to wire in a light that also includes your turn signals as they are always a separate circuit

Do you still have the previous set of brake light assemblies? Id plug those guys back in, if they work fine, your aftermarket ones could just be faulty.
