rear axle shaft compatability?

hey guys, I ran into a problem a while back and its time to fix the problem.

I have a 93 sr5 with a 3.4 swap 5peed manual.
ok so the story goes...I was on a cross country trip from Washington to Florida. with stops on the way. so the rig had seen many miles on the road. I was on my way through Georgia only 2 hours from home and my studs snapped and my wheel came off on the highway! anyway I went for the quick route to get on the road and had a shop throw on a new hub and studs so I could make it home.

fast foreword a bit and here I am now needing to fix the problem. I think the bearing is bad and it is causing a bad vibration on the drivers side rear, and there is grease? or something on my brakes that is not supposed to be there. my backing plate is torn up and im not sure if the axle has been bent.

on to the questions!
is a 88 4runner axle compatible?, it is the only one in my area that I can find.
if I purchased this axle, should I replace the wheel bearing if it comes with one?
if this does not work what should I do to ensure my ride stays safe and on the road?
is there a place to purchase axles and backing plates that I would be sure would fit on my rig?

thanks so much guys. im just in a bit of a bind right now and I am trying to work through it!

Not sure about the 1st gen 4R, I heard (rumor) they are shorter.

But axels from 90-95 4R and 89-95 PU with 8" diff will work.
The brake back plate is different between 4R and PU but are changeable.
