I have a 89 Toyota PU 4 X 4. I have replaced the alternator and have a new battery. When you test the system while the eng is running it shows that it is getting 14v to the battery but after about a week the battery is dead. I took both the alternator and battery back and had them tested both tested good. But I cant seem to find what is draining the battery. Can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks

 

Make sure the dome light is out?

 

Thanks, I had already checked to make sure it was not lights or dome light, stereo what ever I could think of. Thanks again.

 

If you disconnect the battery negative and put a test light between the bat neg and disconnected cable, it will light up. Then pull one fuse at a time until the light goes out. That will at least give you a hint which circuit is draining the battery. The radio and ECM will be the only thing I can think of that has a drain when the key is off.
