My 1991 Toyota Pickup gear selector lever on the steering column rattles like crazy. Is there a bushing in need of replacement?

 

wierd, personally I have not seen a column mounted gear selector, they have always been on the transmission tunnel for both auto and manual transmission..

 

I recently test drove a mid 80's 2wd with column shift. Maybe its a 2wd thing?

 

It is a common problem from my research. There are threads that go over repair, but I don't have the link for you. Use Google with key terms of sloppy gear selector, shifter bushing, etc and you should be able to find them. I have the same problem in my 88 first gen 4runner and I'm trying to figure out how to order the part...
