4th Gen, remove my factory roof rack cross bars?

4th Gen, remove my factory roof rack cross bars?
I have instaled my Thule Cross Bars and it hit me today while loading the Mountain Cycle, "I wonder if I could/should remove the factory bars since I will never iuse them again." Any thoughts?

If you want to you can. But then again wouldn't the crossbars help to strengthen the rack? Dunno..

With how much they flex they are not adding much strength, especially now that I have the Thule's. I was wondering if anyone had done this and how hard/easy it was.
