is it a good choice for a 22re

 

Back in the day I have used that because it was free.

Shell did make good oil I have not used it for years.

I used 20/50 in my 22re engines

 

I second the 20w-50, and make sure the filter has an anti-drainback valve. I had problems with a Bosch oil filter draining overnight causing problems, put a Fram back on and problem disappeared.

 

Do you think the 20/50 is to much in cold areas? I'm using 10/30 right now....

 

Ahh, didn't think about that. I live in Southern Cali where it hardly ever gets below freezing. 10w-30 should work for you in colder climates.

 

If you define cold with constant temps below zero for days on end your better off with 10/30.

We have a mild climate in Eastern Pa compared to the -40F of my youth so I had no issues all year round with 20/50
