Wife got back from a trip to Sacramento in the 2001 4runner and noticed it was dripping oil on the garage floor. The dipstick showed a pencil tip of oil left! I filled it back up with oil and noticed it was still leaking from the driver's side up by the oil cooler someplace. Is there a way to remove the oil cooler lines and/or oil cooler for inspection without pulling the whole engine? Anyone have a detailed diagram of the oil lines on that side of the engine? My 4Runner is a 4x4 and from what I can tell the transfer case blocks just about all access to everything under there. Thanks so much!

 

I think you mean the front diff, rather than the transfer case.

I suppose front diff removal would help too but what I'm trying to get at is almost above the transfer case just in front of the bellhousing.
