How do people put different seats into their trucks?

What's required to do this? I know probably some fabrication of mounts and such. I couldn't find a write-up of it (although there may be one somewhere.) i see these members who have all these different seats from different vehicles in their trucks and I wanna join the club! Haha. Like a lot of well used Yotas, my bench is pretty much gone on one side fabric and all and I want some fancy buckets like I've seen!

Take out your old seats, measure the mounts. Then measure whatever seats will then go in.... some will take some imagination to fit...

I actually saw that in the thread about comfortabe seats by rustED! They look really good in there! Around here there are no Toyota's to find stuff like this in. My closest scrap yard is like 50 miles away and they don't even have yotas. They say people just don't give them up, run them till they die! Haha

I've been keeping an eye on Craigslist, since I live a couple hours away from my nearest wrecking yard as well, I've seen quite a few nice rigs getting parted out, a couple Land Rover Discoveries, etc. Its not to hard to modify the seat brackets to make them work.
My current back seats in my 4runner were out of 2nd Gen 4runner that the PO had put in. They we're missing almost all the hinges and hardware. I had to build everything from scratch including the part where the seat back latchs into, lol.

bolt donor seats to stock toyota bucket seat mounts.

a stock bench seat has one set of mounts that can be used for buckets.

i put z28 seats in my 1st gen PU this way.

Sometime you can find good seats at pick N pull (the wrecking yard) with the mounts and everything!!
Just unbolt your old seats and measure new seats, and bolt in!!
Just pay closet attention to how you take it apart and you should be able to put it back together!!
I've even seen people just bolt 'em straight to the floor but would need some jb weld or something to seal the bottom!! Lol
If I can do it, you should have faith in Yourself !! (:
