Ping coming from rear end mystery?!

Having a problem with my toy its a 86 pickup sr5 5-speed, when ever I start to pull away from a stop there is loud ping coming from the rear end It does it in reverse too just one loud ping.. Greased all my drive shaft and noticed the driveshaft flange bolts where it connects to the diff. Were loose tightened them down and the sounds still there u joints are tight?? Also pings on hard down shifts

I think if you remove the driveshaft you will feel the bearings in the u-joints are seized or crunchy. This is the stage right before they get loose.
