Crazy_Guy97's 94 Toyota 4x4 buildup thread
This my is third Toyota in less then 2 year ( other two are sold). It's 1994 Toyota 4x4 with a 4.3 chevy motor 350 turbo trans 63 chevy leaf springs chevy rear end and solid axle . Has a 3 inch body lift and dual flow master mufflers. I bought the truck done as is. There were a few odds and ends to do and still doing em. My papaw built the console .
My projects for the truck is are re-position the front shocks.
They aren't letting me flex much at all.
New speakers the ones that are in it sound like crap.
Needs a better radiator and electric fan.
There are a few other things I'm wanting to do

Dana 44 is ok. Plenty of aftermarket support for whatever you want to do to it.
Measure how long your leafs are from eye to eye, then look for spring that are that length. How much clearance do you have between the u bolts and the frame?
Got better pictures of the shocks? From the back side of the axle maybe? Its pretty easy to add upper lower shock mounts if you need to. TG sells shock hoops and F250 towers are a low cost option as well, but it depends on what length shock you plan on running.

You need to flex the truck out. Get measurements for full droop, and full stuff and get a shock that matches that travel. Measure from where you would be mounting the shock on axle and frame.
If you plan on getting new leafs for the front, I would do that before shocks, as the new ride height will effect those flex numbers. Looks like you may need longer break lines too.

How long are your current front leafs? Thats a long leaf to run in the front.
Heres a handy leaf spring chart

Measure the width and where the center pin is. Then go to that chart and try to find your springs on it.
For replacements, youll need leafs that are about the same length. Toyota rear leafs...Jeep Wagoneer/yj leafs are close I think.. Look at that chart.
