Question Westin Safari Bar for 03 Runner

Hey Guys,

I'm looking at getting the Westin Safari Bar shortly. Problem is, I can't decide which color to get (black or stainless)? I'm looking for your opinions and/or any pictures of 03's with safari bars. My truck is the silver titanium SR5 with the grey cladding. What do you guys think???

Yos,

That looks really good! I have the exact same truck and I think the black would look nice. Plus, it's cheaper! So, where did you get yours?

I also noticed you purchased the rear spoiler? Where did you get it and how much did it set you back? I see them posted on ebay all the time and have been toying with the idea of getting one this summer.

Truck looks real good Yos! Thanks for your help.

The safari bar I got on ebay form longlewisford. If he is not on there then he has a website. www.gosaveonline.com if you call him up he usually marks down the shipping a bit. I think I paid $130 total shipped for mine.

The spoiler I got at the dealeship, but I got a hook up through a friend of mine. The ones on ebay I'm pretty sure are the exact same and a lot cheaper. The dealership will probably chage $70 to install it. I'd let them do it since it requires drilling in to the body.

Thanks Yosman. I contacted Long Lewis Ford. He quoted me $143 delivered for the black and $225 delivered for the chrome. I do like the black on your truck. However, I'm a little worried that the paint on the black won't hold up in the long term as well as the chrome. I asked a local shop about painting the bar. They refused to paint one, saying they would have to strip all the powder coat. It was to expensive to do in their eyes. So it's back to black or chrome?

I'd love to see if anyone put the chrome version on an SR5 with the cladding. I can't seem to find a pic of one?

As for the spoiler, seems you can get different versions. Fiberglass, plastic, or a mix of both. Any opinions whiich one is better? I know fiberglass will crack, so to me, plastic seems to be the best option.
