do i have to buy both the front and rear if my CEL code says its bad?

 

The code never tells you anything is bad. It only tells you that the ECU has determined that there is a fault in the system or circuit indicated and the code only recommends WHICH diagnostic proceedure to run to determine the true fault.

Now, with all that said, it is so unlikely that both O2 sensors are bad.
