No headlights!!!!

Was driving home from a buddies in my 85 runner last night. And the headlights went out. The head lights have had some gremlins since I got it. They would work when they wanted too but a smack or tap of the steering column have kicked them back on. When they go out the high beam indicator comes on and stays on. Had to hold the high beam switch to the rear to keep them on. I took the column shroud off and the steering wheel off today to look for a bad connection or broken wire and there is nothing jumping out at me that they are bad. So I am assuming it's a bad switch. Any ideas on what might be an easy fix minus sourcing a new complete switch?

Often times the contacts in the switch/dimmer are dirty.
