Has anybody ever hauled a light weight cab over camer on a Base 2wd 22re?

hi, I dont really know were to post this, but I will give it a shot her. I am looking at buying a cab over camper for my stock 1991 2WD toyota pickup with the 22re. I want to keep it at exactly a 1000 pounds. And I would add an extra leave spring. Have any of you guys pulled one of those with a 2wd truck? And is there some mods I should do? What is your opinion on this? Thanks.

It is not so much the weight but the fact your center of gravity is now so much higher.I moved one to help out some one (me and my big heart) it was a very scary ride of only a few miles.

Why not a pull behind pop up Much more room

Just curious how far do you plan to travel with this set up

By yourself you might be able to keep the weight at your goal add a wife and children you will be lugging a few hundred pounds

I don't see how it would be much different then a Dolphin RV.

Companies have been converting Yoters to RV's and U-hauls for years and they seem to do fine.

A drop in camper should be no different and probably much lighter then a full on RV conversion.

Finding a camper to fit a Toyota bed would seem to be the hardest part of all.
