Question 83 pickup won't start after taking carb out and putting back in

I took my carburetor out of my 83 2wd pickup with the intention of doing a full rebuild but instead I replaced just the AAP diaphragm, which I suspect was giving me trouble(bad idle, black smoke at idle, poor gas mileage, ran okay as RPMs rose). Anyhow, I put the carb back in today and replaced a few vacuum lines, but it would not start. It wouldn't even turn over, completely quiet. I tried to push start it and to jump it, but to no avail. The only electrical systems that seem to be working are the headlights (not the taillights) and the hazards (no indicators). I made sure I reconnected the bundle of cables running from the carb, which, if I remember right, were the only ones I disconnected. Could I have accidentally yanked another connection in that area? (in front of, below carb) What's wrong? Please help!

If it isn't turning over at all then it is likely a connection issue to the start. Check the ground and lead to the starter.

You were right, connection loose at the battery. She started right up. Thanks!
