Rim and tire fit question

Hello.

I have a 1990 toy 4x4 pick up long bed v6 which came stock with 15 inch rims and 29 inch tires...

I have a friend who has 17 inch rims and 31 inch tires which was on his 2011 tacoma with 3 inch lift...

Would his rims and tires fit on my 1990 toy? And if so is it going o damage the truck in any way???

Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure you have a standard 6ft bed if it's a 4x4. Only 2wd had longbed option. If it's 4wd then you have 6-lug axles, in which case all toyota 6-lugs are the same pattern and will fit. You cannot however put 15" on newer truck due to brakes clearance. 31" tires were a dealer option for the 3rd gen pickup platform - so you shouldn't have any fitment issues. You will notice a change in speedo/odometer due to the new size and you'll have to recalculate unless you change gears too. There will be a slight loss in power too, and likely a slight mpg loss - but possible to gain mpg if you do lots of flat highway driving due to lower RPMs at same speed

Google image search toyota pickup with 17s (or tacoma/fj cruiser wheels) and you should find some pics.

Do a test fit with your friends rims. You could run into clearance problems up front with the caliper. 5 minute check..
