Should I be worried about my rear main seal?

I'm totally new but I decided to take on a head gasket replacement on my 94 toyota pickup (22re). I started taking everything a part beginning of summer and then let the thing sit for a few months because I didn't have time to finish it. I got the head resurfaced, cleaned the block, getting ready to put everything back together next week. One concern- I drained all the oil out months ago, and a friend tells me that I might have dried out my rear main seal in the meantime. Should I be worried about this? Is there anything I should do before driving the truck again that might prevent a blown seal?

If it was OK before, it'll likely still be OK.
