I am looking for the spring that opens the gas lid as it must have broken off in the week Ive had the car. The gas lid no longer pops open.

Also I need the threaded disc that holds the spring in place on the spare tire.
It is rusted out and I cant tighten or remove it.

Are either of these available through Toyota separately or do I need to buy the entire assemblies and should look for used?

Not sure what you're after on the other one. But the only separate part is the base that goes into the tire.

 

dunno about the spring retainer you're looking for, but most hardware stores carry a variety of springs that may work for the gas flap. try ACE Hardware, they seem to have the best on the shelf hardware supply.

 

Ended up finding the spring at toyota that pops open the gas lid. i was wrong about the spare tire nut. Didnt realize its all on a wire and is tightened or loostened from under the rear bumper
