Just found this forum, at a first glimpse it appears that there is quite much gathered knowledge here

I have an ongoing project with an 1982 Celica, and since i am in Sweden i have this awful 21R-C with single carburator and this EGR-air-pump-crap.

Anyway, I have ordered a kit with gaskets and engine bearings from US.
problem is that the kit is for the 22R. But as far as im concerned the later generations of the engines (past 82?) are quite much the same, except EFI and different bore?

Main question is: Can i use the 22R Head gasket on my 21R?
Or will i loose compression when the combustion chambers get a bit bigger?
Or any other problem that i don't foresee?
