Aligning timing cover on 22RTE?

Id imagine this would be the same on a regular RE but I said RTE just to be specific. I need to get my block decked and I slapped the timing cover back on when I took it to the machine shop. However, we noticed theres no way to actually make sure its aligned. Im not sure if there were any dowel pins that I took off and left at home. When we align the top to be straight, the bottom around the oil pan area is off centered.

Any idea here? This is my first engine build and first time ripping a 22RE to the core.

Thanks!

Factory timing cover?
I think but can't remember right off that there should be some line up dowels on the front on the block.

Yep it's the factory cover. There were some dowels that came off the motor. But I think they are for the oil pump. I have to double check when I stop at the machine shop.
