Hello fellow 4runner enthusiast. I have a 98 2.7L 4runner (218K miles) with a very annoying engine squeak that is driving me crazy. The noise happens when the engine is idling and gets worse when accessories (lights, ac) are on. I replaced the belts and that didn't help. I took all the belts off and the noise is still there. My next guess is the crank bearings. Can anyone please help me, I have had this car for over 10 years and it kills me to hear her crying.

 

My friend's '98 had a persistent squeak with the engine at idle. I traced it to one of the aluminum a/c lines rubbing against the radiator support...
