I have a 90 pickup with the 3vze v6. I have a pretty good looking truck and wanted to clean the engine bay on it so I took some degreaser and sprayed Everything but the alternator and started lightly spaying it out with water. After done i let it dry out and started it...... It started up just fine but after a couple secs it started to sputter and shut off. I tried it a Couple times and it finally straightened up and ran like normal. But now sometimes when I start it it does the same thing until I wiggle the plug for the vafm. So I took and blew the connection out with a air hose and it helped I little but still doing it every once in a while. I hope it didn't screw something up. Keep in mind I cleaned it 4 days ago.

 

Please don't bash me in the ground for this. I just want it fixed.

 

Take off the distributor cap and dry it out.

Of course, it could be any wire and any connection, but I'd start with the distributor based on your symptoms.

 

Yea I did that too. There wasn't any water in it. And not throwing any codes
