So Iam hoping someone might have a idea or have run into this issue but I have an 82 pickup with a 22r and a weber carb it's a 32/36. It has been inteittenly not starting it don't even try and after some cranking it eventually shoots black soot smells like gas so I thought it was flooding out gone through the carb twice checked the float leve now iam thinking no spark but this loves happening when there no on around to help. Has a new coil and all spark plugs cap and rotor are new. The only thing not changed is the igniter could this intermittenly not work like after it's hot ? Thought they more failed and that was it. Also noticed truck is running hotter ? Not by much but like if a weak spark
