So the motor I have in my 89 pickup is from a 99 4runner. 3.4l unknown miles. Been noticing a rough idle when started in the morning so today I pull the plugs all look great good coloring not all clean like coolant. Next I psi tested the radiator held strong at 15psi. Next was the cyl leak down test. All cyl tested good little pressure lost not bad though. (Could be leaking past rings valve seal ect. So I went ahead with the comp test all cyl tested above 195psi no more than a 15psi difference.

So I am curious is there a possibility the injectors are not closing completely? Dripping a small amount of fuel over night causing it to run rich? In a matter of min of running it clears right up runs like a top. Any one have any experiences with injectors leaking?

I have the exact same problem and I had the exact same thought. I don't have tons of money to spend on injectors though. I just don't have time to work on it. I need a vacation!!

 

check your wires .. I had issues with this as well , and ended up being the spark plug wires

^ and also a new set of dual tipped denso or ngk factory plugs, maf cleaning, and disconnect the battery terminal.
