So just out of curiosity what are the options for getting rid of those tired out old torsion beams in the front of my little street truck. The body roll is a little obsurd on that thing.

If you don't have a lot of added weight to the front(after market bumper, winch, etc), you might be best off replacing with a factory style, 22mm t-bar. OME makes some that are stronger at 24mm and Sway-a-way makes a 26mm t-bar. I am running OME bars, but I have a 80-something lb plate bumper as well as a long travel front suspension.

 

i'm assuming this is a 2wd truck? does it have a swaybar on it? IIRC not all 2wd trucks came with the swaybar, but some did. A lot of guys on the toyotamini's site have upgraded to a swaybar (sometimes both f/r swaybars) and it really helps with body roll. I would recommend looking into swaybars if your truck doesn't have one. I think a 4runner's rear swaybar can even be used on the rear of your truck. When you install, swap out the rubber bushings for poly and the truck will be even tighter. Good luck!

 

My truck is a 2wd with both front and rear sway bars(kinda small). I dont have a lot of weight just the stock bumper and a few pounds for the bigger turbo. I might check into beefier front Torsion bars and bigger sway bars. I was just hoping there was a way to just go coil-over but I guess that doesn't exist without cutting and swapping in a whole new sub-frame.

 

coilovers will require lots of modification. easier and cheaper to upgrade your sway bar bushings and t-bars, then see what it needs afterward. i recommend you check out the toyota mini trucks and related websites as they are more dedicated to the 2wd street trucks vs YotaTech which tends to favor the 4wd. good luck.

Upgrade to 1 ton sway bars and poly bushings. If that doesn't tame it enough then its time to look at upgraded shocks and bigger torsions bars.
Are you still at stock hight and on big profile tires? Changing both of those will also help remove some of the body roll.

 

Your sway bar end links and sway bar to frame bushings should both be replace FWIW.

OME torsion bars are intended to be used with the heavy steel ARB bumpers w/a winch.

 

As "Robert m" said, upgrade to 1 ton sway bars (25mm) and poly bushings. However, they are hard to find. If one has a 1984-88 2WD pickup, most came with the small front 18mm sway bar. A good upgrade is simply to get a front sway bar from a 1989-1994 2WD pickup, since most are 23mm* and will bolt right in!

*25mm if you are lucky!
