96 T100 3.4 P1300 cutting out....
I have a 1996 T100 with a 3.4 that is making me want to kill myself. I just got it back from the shop and had the valves ground, fuel filter changed and speedometer cable replaced. Now, it occasionally loses power, the tach drops and it cuts out a little bit. It's actually died twice now when it's doing this. The first time, I was on the brake making a corner at about 20 mph. The second time, it was parked, idling. Both times it fired right back up, but it's throwing a P1300 code, which indicates igniter circuit malfunction. It didn't do this prior to taking it into the shop and I'm just wondering if there's a chance they didn't hook something back up correctly or.....???? It seems odd that this didn't start until I got it back from the shop. It had plenty of other trouble going in with the burnt valve, but never this.......
What should I even be looking at? I'm running proper plugs and I've recently changed the wires as well. When I was researching the misfire I had as a result of the burnt valve, I had also checked the coils. They all seemed to be fine. ???
Thanks,
MO

well pretty much just what the code says.
The ECM is unable to detect that the igniter is working.
The igniter circuit is the igniter the wiring to the ECM and the ECM itself
If they disconnected the igniter to do the valve job perhaps the plug got dirt in.
Not plugged in tight.
loose ground connection for the ECM
Then it could just be your bad luck these things are happening now.
When this code trips the MIL the ECM shuts off the fuel so as not to be dumping fuel into a non firing engine.

Thanks wyoming9. I definitely have bad luck....... I think there may be more to the story. When they did the valve job, they broke a clip on an injector. I don't really know anything about it, but I have a feeling I'm going to be learning plenty on this adventure. I'm wondering if the broken housing connector is the root of the problem. I don't know if this could cause this sort of symptom, but it surely seems suspicious.
