Rebuilt motor I checked and rechecked everything it cranks fine but no fuel is coming from the tank I've tried turning the key on. I've bought new cold start sensor but still no fuel. Am I missing something? is there a certain way to prime it. I'm throwing wrenches here. My fuel pump worked fine before the rebuild.

is the Circuit opening relay closing like it should ?? Two coils one for starting and one for running.

Contacts corroded from sitting.

just bad luck and the fuel pump dies now.

 

Jumper FP to B+ on the diagnostic connector. This bypasses the VAF / COR circuit, so that the pump will fun with just key-on. You'll be able to hear it from the engine bay, as the engine is not cranking. If the fuel pump runs then, you have a problem in the VAF / COR circuit. If it doesn't work then, before you suspect the pump use your multi-meter to confirm you have 12v to ground on B+.

The Cold Start Injector Timer has nothing to do with fuel pressure, or whether the pump runs.

You never need to "prime" the fuel pump; it's sitting inside the tank under all the fuel.

Yup wyoming u got it connection on top of the fuel sending unit corroded all green and came apart. Now problem is finding the part. It is becoming a task. I have to get the whole unit bc the corrosion was so bad up in there it ate through the fuel line and they split right open at the slightest movement.

 

I can't find this thing anywhere please let me know if anyone knows were i can get one. I believe its called fuel pump bracket sending unit for 1993 toyota base pickup 2.4 4wd

 

I would see if you can get one from one of the online Toyota Parts Dealers. Last one I paid like $120.00 or so.

A used one if your lucky from someone who just installed one.

From the yard not much better then the one you have.

 

I have seen them on ebay. They all look the same but make sure you have the correct length from the bottom of the tank to the top of the bracket. Toyota used several lenghts. There are some parts sellers on here. Check the classifieds on here as well.

The one you want depends on the size fuel tank, which depends on the bed-size. Use your VIN to get exactly the part number you need. You can even google the part number to find someone selling them, but for a part like this I would be tempted to just get it from a dealer (call in advance for a price, though. Give the dealer your VIN and what you think is the right part number; much easier for them to find the part then.)

 

I had to buy one. Only place i could find the correct one was the dealer with my VIN. It was about $140 + tax and 2 days of waiting
