HD Alternator for 2010 Tacoma Pre-runner

Hi,

I've got a 2010 Tacoma extended cab pre-runner. I'm a communications officer for the United States Civil Defense Association (non-governmental).

I need an alternator with at least 140 amps output, but so far have only found a few w/130 amps of output.

Any help with a source or sources would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Lt. Col. Randall Smith, KF5YMT/AAR6KQ, Commander
Nationwide Emergency Communication Network
United States Civil Defense Association

I would think your best bet might be your local alternator starter repair shop have your stock unit turned up.

I would not know about how long it will last but in your case I would think a spare would be a good idea.

Why do you need so much output ??

He needs it for radios. They can pull alot of power.

There are places thea have 200+ amp alternors, But you are looking at $3-400+ for them. Ask at some local parts stores, Napa or other pro stores (not pep or the zone) or car stereo shops, they will know the best places.
