New Marlin 1200lbs clutch but light pedal effort

So I installed the 1200lb HD Clutch on to my '98 4Runner (new NAPA flywheel) and was surprised to find the clutch pedal effort to be way easier to push than the old OEM set-up. The research I did suggested the pedal effort to be higher instead of lower. Engagement seems fine though and I haven't worked it too hard as I'm trying to break it in properly. Anyone experience a lighter pedal feel after their install?

Yes. With both of mine. It's normal.

Really? Wow, I hope you're not kidding... I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around it. I love how smoothly it engages though!

I've failed to determine why also. Though, the only time I ever smoked mine, during 3.5 years on one, was when I really shouldn't have been doing what I was doing. It holds great. I'm constantly riding it while crawling and I've never had any issues other than the aforementioned incident.

Mine has a lite feel also, the springs in the center disk are lighter I think that is why the peddle is softer.
with the supercharger and the new clutch I have not have a slippage. I can smoke the tires off the line ..it is a good clutch.

I did a marlin 1200 with a new napa flywheel when I rebuilt my trans. I had a burned to hell stock clutch prior, with a very stiff pedal. It seriously shocked me the first time I drove the truck. I was worried there was something wrong like you. I've been on that clutch since October 2011, and have since supercharged, so the load on the clutch has definitely increased, but the pedal effort has stayed the same. I've done everything from tow 6-8k to drag race the truck, and the clutch has held up fine. You'll be very happy with it.

One thing that helps with the light pedal feel of a new clutch is the grease on the ID of the throw out bearing (which should be put on every time a clutch job is done).

Could be. The shaft was dry with the OEM set when I removed it and I did grease it with the new one.
