My 1993 extracab. Sas, turbo buick v6
New to the site! Figured I would post a little info about my current build. Its a work in progress and currently hasn't hit the road since going under the knife.
To start with the whole reason behind the motor swap was partly to do with having a father that is a diehard buick freak and a son (that's me) a die hard Toyota freak. I found a good deal on a freshly rebuilt 1984 sequential fuel injected 3.8 turbo v6 out of a buick regal. The motor was rebuilt with a mild cam, aftermarket turbo wheel. Mild head work so on and so forth. I couldn't think of a better heart transplant for the 224,xxx mile 3.0 v6. So the project began.

Welcome to YotaTech! I am happy to see another buick engine in a Toyota. They are some of the best engines around. Looks like a clean swap! What adapters/bellhousing did you use? Did you keep the R150f? Have anymore pics?
Keep up the good work!

I'll keep digging I have a few that I will post right now. Currently I have a 4l60e in it right now because I wanted overdrive. However after mocking everything up I'm not going to use it because of all the hoops I would need to jump through to make my electronically shifted transmission... Not electronic. Reason being, $$$ the control modules and all the gizzmos to make it work wouldn't make it worth it. The idea now is to spend the money and buy an adapter to run my toyota 5speed... Risky I know but with a good clutch I'm going to try it. I'm very easy on my rigs and it will be a street princess. To answer your question this motor is out of a regal. It is the pre grandnational version from 84-85 that was fuel injected however it is a "hot air" motor I.e. Non inter cooled like the later 86-87 version from a GN.

Yes, please post specs!
Download the photobucket app if you have a smart phone, then upload all of your pictures to it. Then copy and paste the IMG code from photobucket directly to your post. It should show up full size.

Don't bash on the angle of the tip I know it's big I know it's low. Let me explain lol. I brought my truck to my buddies exhaust shop where he built a custom crossover pipe up pipe out of 2.5 stainless. In 3" all the way to a 40 series polished stainless flow master. It was meant to be a mix between a SoCal turn down style and old school turn down. However I need to raise it up a lot higher so it's not so out in the open

Looks great! That R150 will handle that engine no problem. I threw around the idea of putting the buick 3800 series 2 supercharged engine in my truck for a long time, and I almost pulled the trigger, but things came up and I am sticking with the 3.0 for now. Clean truck!

Thanks for the positive feed back! I'm pretty sure it will hold up just fine. This motor is only mildly built and even though these are torque monsters, I think with a good clutch and halfway decent driving behavior (cough cough) lol. Now I need to track down the right flywheel that's is balanced for these motors in a 32 tooth (I think ) so I can run the adapter
