Broken water pump long bolt
Changed out water pump and the long water pump bolt broke. Didnt have time to get it out so I just put it back together without the bolt and had no leaks drove it home 20 miles its just fine. Heard of anyone doing this? Is this aliright gonna last and can it cause any damage?

One of those things!!
It will most likely start leaking at the worst possible time.
Then you might get lucky and it does not fail till you fix it.
Me the next morning the coolant level would be down to the level of the broken bolt.
The only damage would be from it starting to leak and you letting the engine get hot.

It migh last forever but who can say. You had it out and am guessing you just over tightened it. Should come back out easily. I would replace it when the chance come along. I could see driving the truck until I had the time to fix it but would not want to push my luck.
