Swap 1986 22R (carbureted) into 1983 22R (carbureted)

Hey all,
I've done a fair amount of searching before coming here to ask for y'all's insight. I have a line on a 1983 first gen with a ˟˟˟˟ty engine. I already have my 1986 beater truck that was in a wreck a couple months ago and is more than willing to donate its engine. From my searching I'm pretty sure that it'll fit, I'll probably have to switch mounts. My question is once the newer model 22R is in the engine bay of the '83, is it just a plug and play or do I need to pull the harness out of the '86?

Thanks in advance!

Several years ago I swapped a 82 motor into a 86 model truck. I used the external parts off the 86, and the only problem that I remember was the exhaust manifold needed an extra hole in it. I dug up a manifold that fit the 82 and looked like the 86 manifold. The motor looked factory installed and so you shouldn't have much trouble going the opposite way on the swap.
